Hey everyone. We just finished up the final mixes for Voices and the tracks are off to mastering. The artwork looks rad (thanks to Ben and NASA) and will look even better on a three-panel digipak. Sorry, no proper release date yet, but we’ll know very soon.
We’re going to set up some shows around the release and figure out a couple of covers, so we have some options besides just playing the album. Send us your suggestions and we’ll see what we can do.
Also, if you missed your chance to pick up the ABF 2-song/Second Nature sampler at one of the Coalesce or Small Brown Bike shows, then cruise over to Second Nature’s website and pick up the MP3’s (click on “Artists > Able Baker Fox”). OK, more soon!
We have to sincerely thank Ed Rose for the hard work that he put into our record. We had a blast working on it with him. Here’s what he had to say about it on his website:
yes, it’s as bad-ass as you’d expect. in only four days we cranked out an awesome rock record…amazing. i haven’t done a record this quickly in about a decade. oh, and there are a couple of instances of ripley stereo guitar that will blow your mind when listening in headphones.
What’s a “ripley stereo guitar” you ask? It’s this insane guitar where each string has it’s own balance knob, so you can assign each string to it’s own position in the mix. That intro on “Stuttering” is just one guitar with each string panned to a different spot. Make sure to bring your earbuds for this record!
Ever wonder what bands Nathan grew up listening to? Or if we have any touring plans?
Well, the folks at Indie Rock Review have posted an interview with Nathan. Head over here for answers to your questions and more.
